The government has revised the gas production business scheme of Joint Operating Body Pertamina-Talisman Ogan Komering Ltd (JOB-PTOK), which operates the Ogan Komering block, in South Sumatra, by naming state-owned fertilizer firm PT Pusri as the buyer of gas output portion belonging to the state from the block.
Waras Budi Santosa, Head of Natural Gas Commercialization at upstream regulator SKK Migas, said that previously state-owned PT Pertagas was appointed as the buyer.
?But it has now been changed. PT Pusri becomes the direct buyer of gas from PTOK, while Pertagas will only provide the infrastructure,? he said.
Waras added that parties involved are still discussing the gas sales and purchase agreement.
The Ogan Komering PSC is now operated by JOB-PTOK under a contract set to expire on February 28, 2018.
The JOB said in November it was hopeful for an extension of the current production sharing contract (PSC) over the Ogan Komering block following new gas discovery.
As has been previously reported by this portal, JOB-PTOK has recently made a new gas discovery at the Ogan Komering block following successful exploration drilling of the Jantung Baru-1 (JTB-1) well from a new exploration play.
?With the finding of hydrocarbon resources from a new exploration play towards the end of the current contract, then the potential for managing the block after the (current) PSC expiry is wide open,? said General Manager of JOB-PTOK Indra Sahab.
