Pusri, Pertamina in talks to extend gas supply contract

South Sumatra fertilizer maker PT.Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) has commenced talks to renew gas supply contract with state oil and gas company PT. Pertamina that would expire in December 2007, Kompas daily reported on Friday, quoting a company official.

Pusri director Djafarudin Lexy said that currently Pertamina supplies 225 MMCFD of gas to the fertilizer plant, which is the country?s top urea producer. Under the current contract, Pusri pays Pertamina US$2 per MMBTU, ramping up to $2.15 in 2006 and $2.3 in 2007.

The daily did not say the volume of gas Pusri was seeking to renew. (*)
