Pusri plans new fertilizer plants to boost capacity

President Director Dadang Kodri said as quoted by media that the Sulawesi plant would produce urea and the Papua plant would produce urea and ammonia.
Sulawesi plant would tap gas from Donggi-Senoro gas project and Papua plant would use Tangguh gas.
Dadang said that construction of each plant would take 33 months to complete. He, however, said that the Company would not start construction until it has secured gas supply commitments from producers.
Meanwhile, a Ministry of Industry official said that Pusri will need investment of US$4.5 billion to build new fertilizer plants in Sulawesi, Papua and East Nusatenggara with combined capacity of 5.775 million tonnes per annum.
Director of Upstream Chemical Industry Alexander Barus said that in Pustri will build a plant in Central Sulawesi with capacity of 1.55 million tonnes per annum and anther plants in Papua and East Nusa Tenggara with capacity of 2.31 MTPA each. Gas supply for Nusa Tanggara plant would be sourced from Masela gas field in Timor sea, he said.
He added that the three plants would require gas feed of 455 MMCFD. (*)
