Pusri, PTBA complete FS for coal gasification project

State-owned fertilizer company PT Pupuk Sriwidjaya Palembang (Pusri) and IDX-listed coal producer PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) have completed feasibility study (FS) for a planned coal gasification plant.

Antonius Priya Utama, Project Manager at PT Pusri told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the FS was completed in June. "Currently we are working toward the establishment of joint venture for developing the project," he said.

The project will be located at PTBA's coal concession, about 20 km from Tanjung Enim in South Sumatra. The coal gasification plant will utilize lignite coal with calorific value around 4,200 kcal/kg.
