Putra Perkasa to boost coal production, overburden removal

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA), a coal mining contractor, will increase coal production volume and overburden removal volume this year amid rising trend in the price of the commodity.
Last year, PPA produced overburden removal of 70 million bank cubic meters (bcm) and seven million tons of coal.
?We set production target for overburden removal at 130 million bcm and 11 million tons of coal this year,? PPA?s President Director Christianto Setyo, said to Petromindo.com recently.
PPA serves some mining companies in Kalimantan among others PT Borneo Indobara (BIB), PT Mega Prima Persada (MPP), PT Alamjaya Barapratama (ABP), PT Rantaupanjang Utama Bakti (RUB) and PT Kalimantan Jaya Bara (KJB).
PPA operates 42 units of heavy equipment, of which 33 are owned by the company and the remainders are leased. PPA?s fleet is dominated by Komatsu heavy equipment reaching 95 percent of the fleet. Christianto unveiled that PPA plans to add more heavy equipment in anticipating ramp up of production in the future.
