PV Coal targets to import 10 MT of Indonesian coal in 2017

PV Coal, a unit of Vietnam oil, gas firm PetroVietnam (PV) which is appointed as one of the two sole coal importers to the country said it is in talks with Indonesian coal producers over long-term coal supply to Vietnam.
?We?re currently in talks with PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) PT Adaro Indonesia, Kideco Jaya Agung and PT Bumi Resources Tbk,? Managing Director Nguyen Xuan Hoa said on a sideline of a conference in Singapore on Wednesday.
Hoa said that PV Coal is targeting to start import of 1.5 MT from Indonesia in 2014, ramping up to 10 MT three years later.
He also said that the Company is scouting for coal mines acquisition in Indonesia. (denny)
