Quest to conduct 3 well drill program in Ranau

Australia-listed firm Quest Petroleum NL said that it would contract for a 3 well program within the Jaya sub-basin of Ranau PSC aimed at testing three leads, namely Kayumanis, Sawat, and Tabat.

It stated in a press statement on Wednesday that the Ranau Joint Study, which was successfully conducted by PrabuEnergy Pty Ltd (80 percent owned by Quest) and the Trisakti University (Joint Study), had prioritized the drilling of three leads located within the Jaya sub-basin of the Company?s Ranau oil and gas projects, in South Sumatra.

The Company is currently preparing to drill its first exploration well, with the location of the well now finalized and approvals and site access well advanced.

The Ranau Projects cover a largely unexplored area in an established oil and gas region. Over the past 12 months exploration in South Sumatra has seen multiple wells with commercial oil and/or gas shows. Several of these discoveries are currently under development with the intention to sell hydrocarbons to domestic and foreign markets.
