Quezon Power bags long-term coal supply deal with KPC, Adaro

Luzon-based utility firm Quezon Power (Philippines) Limited Co. has bagged long-term contract from Indonesia coal miners to supply around 1.4 million tonnes of coal per annum to its 502 MW pulverized coal-fired power plant, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

The official said that the company bought the coal under long-term contracts from Indonesian giant coal miners, which are South Kalimantan coal miner PT Adaro Indonesia and East Kalimantan coal miner PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

Adaro supplied around 900,000 tonnes of coal per year until 2016 and KPC supplied around 500,000 tonnes per year until 2020, the official said.

The price is renegotiate annually based on indexes. This year, the company agreed to pay around US$80-90 per tonne, the official said without giving further details. (denny)
