Rain does not affect Kalimantan coalmines production

Despite heavy rain that hit Sumatra and larger part of Java for the last few days, Kalimantan based coal mining companies said on Wednesday that their area of operations are not affected and production still continue as planned.

?We experience no rain at our mining site and we are still able produce at 60,000 tons per day,? said Priyadi, an executive at PT Adaro Indonesia, which operates a coal mine in South Kalimantan.

Bambang Susanto, senior executive at Kaltim Prima Coal also said that the weather was thus far conducive to keep production going as planned.

Other companies contacted said that thus far they have not been affected by rain. (godang)
