Rajawali to start S. Sumatra coal mine production in 2013

Diversified conglomerate Rajawali Corp is expecting to start coal commercial production from its South Sumatra coal mine in 2013, the company?s official told Petromindo.com

The official said that Rajawali has acquired PT Triyani coal mine since December last year. At the present, the company is studying a few hauling coal options to the nearest port.

The official said that the company is also now calculating coal output figure once the mine start production, without revealing estimating figure.

The coal from the mine is low-rank coal, the official said.

The official also said that Rajawali Group is continuing to seek a new coal mine. ?We prefer to acquire coal mine(s) in South Sumatra with any specification as long as the mine is clear and clear status,? the official added.

Currently the company has 49% stake at East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT. International Prima Coal (IPC). (denny)
