Pertamina EP took over the operatorship of the Ramba field on October 16, 2010 after the Technical Assistance Contract of Elnusa Tristar Ramba Ltd expired. At the time, production at the field averaged 3,424 bopd.
?Production increased to around 6,000 bopd at the end of September, but in early October a number of large wells stopped production, which brought back the output to around 5,700 bopd. However, the wells resumed production and output soared again to 6,300 b opd, and peaked at 6,504 bopd on October 18, 2013, and tends to be stable,? explained Hermawan Prasetyadi, Assistance Manager for Petroleum Engineering at Pertamina EP Field Ramba.
He said that the increase in production at the Ramba field was a result of a number of measures including the opening up new well BN-109, acid stimulation measure, and the introduction of electric submersible pump to replace jack pump.
