Ramba field production further increases to near 7,000 bopd

PT Pertamina EP said that production at the Ramba oil field in South Sumatra continued to increase toward the end of the year, reaching almost 7,000 bopd, higher than the initial production target for this year of 5,443 bopd.
?We managed to record another successful moment on December 20, 2013, when the Ramba field achieved a monumental output of 6,902 bopd,? said Ramba field Manager, Bustanul Fikri in a statement issued Friday.
Pertamina EP took over the operatorship of the Ramba field on October 16, 2010 after the Technical Assistance Contract of Elnusa Tristar Ramba Ltd expired. At the time, production at the field averaged 3,424 bopd.
Since then, the company has taken a number of measures to lift production at the field. Bustanul said that the success in achieving production level close to 7,000 bopd was the result of combination of measures including optimization of existing wells, reopening of new wells, and successful drilling programs.
Hermawan Prasetyadi, Ramba Petroleum Engineering Assistant Manager said that since August 2013, the company implemented optimization program on 85 wells particularly in the Bentayan field, providing production gain of up to 482 bopd.
He added that new drilling program at the BN-110 well has been quite successful, with initial production of 501 bopd, way over the targeted 100 bopd.
Other measures include the reopening of new wells at the Ramba structure, which provided output gain of up to 10 bopd, and in Tanjung structure which provided gain of up to 94 bopd. The Mangunjaya structure also provided gain following the replacement of low efficiency pump, allowing the well to be able to increase production to 585 bopd from 376 bopd previously, the company said in the statement.
