?While undertaking the JRR-3 ST Workover, the Company has discovered oil from the Baturaja Limestone Formation, which currently is the deepest formation drilled within the Jatirarangon Block. Although initial testing has been completed, further in-depth geological, geophysical and reservoir studies, seismic acquisition, as well as a well-intervention program, are being considered before the Company can determine the true potential of the discovery,? the company said.
?Such further in-depth studies will have to be made in consultation with Pertamina and will require Pertamina?s prior approval. The Company will make such further announcements once it has an agreed plan of action with Pertamina.?
The company also reported that the workover well yielded 0.5 mmscfd of gas.
Due to the oil discovery in the Baturaja Formation, the Company has decided to forgo the perforation of the other 2 potential zones in the JRR-3 ST well. The current oil production at the JRR-3 ST well is approximately 90 bopd.
Ramba through its subsidiary Ellipse Energy Jatirarangon Wahana Ltd has 70 percent working interest in the block. (alex)
