Ratu Prabu Intera laments cancelled assets sale

PT Ratu Prabu Intera Arun deplores ExxonMobil Indonesia's decision to cancel its plan of selling its Aceh oil and gas assets.

"We are very disappointed with a late decision by ExxonMobil not to sell the assets after a year-long tender process we have followed through to the final round" said Maman Budiman, Managing Director of Ratu Prabu Intera Arun told Petromindo.com.

Ratu Prabu Intera Arun is a consortium of PT Ratu Prabu Energi Tbk and PT Intera Arun Energy.

VP Senior VP Exploration & External Relations ExxonMobil Indonesia Asep Sulaiman confirmed the cancellation.

"With all aspects taken into account, we have decided to retain the businesses," Asep told petromindo.com.

The assets include the Arun field and Arun satellite fields, and the North Sumatra Offshore field. The Arun field is the supplier of gas to the Arun LNG plant.
