RBT on track to meet full-year tin output target

Bangka Belitung tin mining and smelter firm PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) said it is on track to meet a much higher refined tin production target this year of 10,000 tons.

RBT President Director Reza Andriansyah told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that production in the first semester of this year has already reached 5,000 tons.

He said that RBT exports its refined tin to markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada and other countries. Last year, the company managed to produce only 4,000 tons of refined tin due to a five-month suspension of its smelter operations.

Reza expected tin price to stabilize at around US$19,000-$21,000 per ton, compared to last year?s average of around $19,000 per ton.
