ASX-listed diversified engineering and infrastructure company RCR Tomlinson Ltd announced Thursday that it has been awarded a contract with PT Kartanegara Energi Perkasa (KEP) to provide a combined cycle addition to KEP's existing open-cycle 92MWe gas-fired power plant in Senipah, East Kalimantan Province.

RCR said in a statement that the project is valued at more than A$75 million.

RCR's scope of work includes overall project management, design, and supply of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and the supply of associated plant including steam turbine, condenser and generator. Construction work will be provided by RCR's local partner and the completed project will increase the power plant output by a further 27MWe. ?Work will commence immediately,? the company said.

RCR's Managing Director & CEO, Dr Paul Dalgleish said "The Senipah project is a significant step forward in growing our energy business. This award is of the scale necessary to provide our Energy business with a base load project starting this financial year. RCR is providing a technology solution with our local construction partners, and the win supports our current strategy to expand our Energy business into the growing South East Asian market."

"This project win is another step towards fulfilling RCR's growth expectations for FY18 and beyond."
