ASX-listed Realm Resources Ltd hopes to be able to resume talks with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN over possible supply of coal to the latter?s power plant projects.
Realm reiterated in a statement on Friday that its 51-percent owned Katingan Ria development ready thermal coal project in Central Kalimantan has the potential to supply coal to the proposed 2x100 MW coal fired power plant in the nearby Central Kalimantan town of Kasongan.
The company said that with the presidential election over, it was hoping that talks with PLN could resume in the fourth quarter of this year.
?Realm Resources Ltd is continuing to engage with prospective buyers and/or strategic off take partners interested in the company?s development ready thermal coal project in Central Kalimantan. Interest has mainly been directed at domestic supply opportunities and specifically PLN?s proposed 200Mw power station development in the vicinity of Kasongan,? Realm said.
?With the Indonesian election now finalised, management will re-engage with PLN officials to explore opportunities as a number of major power developers have expressed interest in partnering with Realm,? it added.
Katingan Ria 4,200kcal GAR coal has remained at around US$36 per ton, the company said.
