Reform Team for Oil and Gas Management will recommend the government to hand over the authority of importing crude oil and oil fuels from Petral, a Singaporean subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, to a special unit in the firm called Pertamina Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).

Reform Team?s leader Faisal Basri told reporters on Tuesday that Petral could become a participant in the crude oil and oil fuel procurement tender to be held by Pertamina ISC.

?Petral can effectively play a role as a market intelligence in the global and regional markets to give inputs to ISC,? he said.

In procuring crude oil and oil fuels, ISC will hold tenders which are open too all venders, not only state owned firms, Faisal said.

?The procurement tenders should be carried out in Indonesia, by Pertamina ISC and should follow the regulations that exist in Indonesia. As such, Indonesian auditors and law enforcers can perform their jobs optimally,? he said.

The Reform Team also recommends the replacement of Petral and ISC?s leadership from their top leaders to managers.

?In this occasion, I would like to congratulate Daniel Purba (who is a member of the Reform Team) for having been appointed as Pertamina ISC?s head,? Faisal said.

The Reform Team also recommend Petral make a road map for itself to become ?a world-class oil trading company? and prepare all infrastructures needed for the purpose.

The Reform Team will also recommend a forensic audit by a competent agency in Indonesia with network reaching to Singapore and other related countries on Petral?s past activities.

?The results of the forensic audit can be used as an entry point to investigate whether there is a mafia-like activities there,? he said.
