Regas hopes gas plan of 16 cargoes realized this year

PT Nusantara Regas, a joint venture of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and state gas distributor PT PGN Tbk, said that it hoped the gas supply for its Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Jakarta bay from Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan would be realized at 16 cargoes as planned this year.
"So far, we?ve got one cargo. The second cargo, God?s willing, will arrive on June 27,? PT Nusantara Regas President Director Hendra Jaya told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Hendra said that his company would use the second cargo to fulfill its commitment to state utility PT PLN. ?We can supply PLN up to 210 bbtud during this year,? he said.
He added that the pipeline that would be used to transport the gas from the FSRU to the gas-fired power plants, Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok, would be the one owned by PHE ONWJ.
Meanwhile, it was reported recently that state utility PT PLN also hoped that gas supply from the floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) in Jakarta bay to its power plants in Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok would stabilize at 165 mmscfd after the arrival of the second cargoe.
?Now there is no problem with the gas supply as the power plants are still in a stage of commissioning. But after commissioning, we hope that the gas supply will stabilize at 165 mmscfdd,? PLN Fuel Oil and Gas Division Head Suryadi Mardjoeki said recently.
?They will supply one more cargo on June 24 or 27. After that we hope PT Nusantara Regas will regularly supply it in every two weeks,? he noted. The first gas supply from Mahakam received on May 24.
