PT Nusantara Regas, the operator of Indonesia?s first Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) to be deployed at the Jakarta bay, said it has signed an agreement to lease an LNG carrier owned by offshore supporting company PT Trada Maritime Tbk.
President Director of Nusantara Regas, Hendra Jaya, told Petromindo.com that the LNG tanker vessel will carry Indonesian flag in line with cabotage policy ? allowing only Indonesian-registered vessels to transport goods between islands in the country.
The vessel will be used to transport gas to the West Java FSRU, which is expected to begin operating in second quarter of 2012. The leasing will be for 11 years. Hendra however declined to disclose the leasing cost.
Hendra said that the Time Charter Party has been signed last week. Nusantara Regas may add more LNG carriers if it secures more LNG supply.
