Regent halts operation of Tunas Inti Abadi

Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H Maming has temporarily halted the operation of coal mining company PT Tunas Inti Abadi (TIA) in Sebamban Baru due to heated agrarian conflict with local people.
The decision to stop the operation made on Monday was based on recommendation from Regional Legislative Council.
"We have to stop the operations of PT TIA based on recommendation from Regional Legislative Council in anticipation of increasingly heated conflict with local community," Mardani said as quoted by Media Indonesia.
He said that the stopage of the operation of PT Tunas Inti Abadi was temporary and that it could start operation normally once the the conflict is resolved. (*)
