It has sent delegations to Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia for a study tour of local coalmines and ports, aiming to found a coal supply base overseas. They have visited Bengkulu Coal Mine and PT. SSKd Coal Company of Indonesia and the Anglo Coal Company of Australia.
It is reported that the group has founded the Guangdong Yuedian Navigation Co Ltd in cooperation with other companies including the Guangdong Power Development Co and the Guangdong Tianneng Investment Co Ltd in order to ensure supply of coal by sea for the existing thermal power generating equipment and the future new units, and control costs on transportation of coal.
