Regional LNG: Chubu Electric, GAIL sign joint LNG procurement MoU

Japan utility firm Chubu Electric Power Company, Inc. announced on Monday that it has agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

Under this MoU, Chubu Electric and GAIL will discuss the possibility of collaboration in joint LNG procurement and operations.

GAIL is the largest gas distribution company in India where LNG demand is growing rapidly. Chubu Electric believes that this collaboration will contribute to more stable and flexible LNG procurement activity for the two companies, in Asian or world LNG market, the company said.
