Regional LNG: EMA, KOGAS to collaborate on LNG procurement and supply chain management

The Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate and promote knowledge exchange on mutually beneficial areas in liquefied natural gas (LNG) procurement and supply chain management for Singapore and South Korea.

Under the wide-ranging MoU, EMA and KOGAS will share best practices and knowledge on the procurement and management of LNG supplies, as well as exchange of personnel for training and learning purposes.

The MoU was signed today at KOGAS’ Incheon LNG Terminal by Ngiam Shih Chun, Chief Executive of EMA, and Choi Yeon-Hye, President and CEO of KOGAS.

“As a small country with limited natural resources for power generation, natural gas will remain a major component in our energy mix while Singapore shifts towards cleaner and greener energy sources. We appreciate this partnership with KOGAS which will enhance our knowledge and expertise in the management of LNG supply and help strengthen our energy security,” said Ngiam in a statement.
