Regional LNG: Foster Wheeler awarded Pluto LNG FEED

Nasdaq-listed engineering firm Foster Wheeler Ltd. announced Sunday that its subsidiary Foster Wheeler Energy Limited has been selected by Woodside Energy Ltd. to undertake the front-end engineering design (FEED) for Woodside's planned Pluto LNG development in Western Australia.
Foster Wheeler is leading a joint venture with WorleyParsons Services Pty Ltd. (the FWWP joint venture) in executing the FEED for this new liquefaction facility.
"Woodside has indicated that, subject to a final investment decision in mid 2007, it will take a decision on Foster Wheeler and its joint venture partner continuing as the contractor for the EPC phase," Steve Davies, chairman and CEO of Foster Wheeler Energy Limited said.
The Pluto LNG project is expected to produce between 5 million and 7 million tonnes of LNG per year, based on reserves of 3.5 TCF of natural gas.(alex)
