Iran, South Korea continue negotiations on gas export

Managing director of Iranian Gas Export Company (IGEC) Rokneddin Javadi Tuesday said that IGEC and South Korean Gas Company continue talks about annual export of 1.5-2 million tons of LNG from Iran to that country, IRNA reported.

Javadi told IRNA that IGEC has been one of the top three companies participating in South Korea's tender on LNG and is quite likely to win the bid.

Turning to January 10, 2005 as the deadline for mutual talks on he issue, he noted that Tehran-Seoul negotiations continued up to Monday.

Javadi underlined that though the winner of the tender has not yet been declared, according to the officials of Total Gas Co., the proposal titled ?Yaman LNG? has a better chance to win as compared to ?Pars LNG?.(*)
