Korea Gas Corp. (KOGAS), the world's single-largest LNG buyer, is seeking additional spot cargoes of the fuel for winter as power firms snap up more natural gas than expected, company officials said on Tuesday as quoted by agency
The search for extra supplies comes amid a tight global spot market for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the wake of production problems in Nigeria and Australia a few months ago and falling exports from Indonesia, the world's top exporter of LNG.
State-controlled KOGAS will seek about 200,000 tonnes -- or 3-4 cargoes -- of additional supply for next January through March to boost stocks, a company official said.(*)
