Regional LNG: Malaysia LNG inks LNG supply deal with Shikoku Electric

Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd., a unit of Petroliam Nasional Bhd., has signed a 15-year agreement to supply up to 420,000 metric tons of LNG a year to Japan's Shikoku Electric Power Co. beginning 2010, Petronas said Monday.
The LNG will come from the Petronas LNG Complex in eastern Sarawak state, and will be transported via tankers owned by MISC Bhd. to Shikoku's new terminal in Sakaide, Japan. MISC is a unit of Petronas.
The terminal, now under construction, is due to be completed in 2010.
Shikoku is the eighth-largest power company in Japan, supplying electricity to more than 4 million people on Shikoku Island.(*)
