Regional LNG: Malaysia MISC orders 5 LNG tankers from Mitsubishi: Report

Malaysia International Shipping Corp. Bhd. Monday said it has recently agreed to buy five new liquefied natural gas tankers from Japanese shipbuilder Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
"I can confirm we have signed up for five (tankers)," MISC spokesperson Fiona Pereira said.
MISC is a unit of national oil and gas corporation Petroliam Nasional Bhd., or Petronas.
MISC declined to divulge the cost of buying the new tankers.
In August, MISC Chairman Mohd Hassan Marican said the shipping company will expand its fleet by buying 11 more tankers by 2008. (*)
