Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited on Wednesday said Bonny Gas plant has resumed full production in its three trains, following the successful repairs of a section of its gas supply pipeline in Okrika Local Government area of Rivers State, African daily This Day reported Thursday.

The supply line was damaged last month after a rupture and fire, limiting the production of liquefied natural gas from the plant to one third of total output of nine million metric tones per annum.

The company?s General Manager, External Relations, said in Johannesburg, that NLNG has lifted the force majeure it declared as a result of the drastic reduction in the plant?s output.

The company said it could not meet its export obligations to Europe and North American customers due to circumstances beyond its control.

?Re-commissioning activities have been completed successfully and the trains are now working at normal operating levels, and production of LNG and NGL?s (Natural Gas Liquids) has resumed,? she said.

NLNG?s fourth train, she said, was also moving from commissioning to start-up phase with the acceptance by company of the ?Ready for Start Up? notification issued by its contractor, TSKJ. This is expected to come up by Thursday.

First production of LNG from train 4 is forecast for end of October. Train 4 is part of NLNG?s ?Plus? project, which also includes Train 5, scheduled for start-up later this year. (*)
