Friday, July 21 2006 - 02:48 AM WIB

The North West Self Venture (NWSV) of Australia delivered about 2.76 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or about 282 cargoes in the second quarter of 2006, slightly down from 2.77 million tons (300 cargoes) in the previous quarter.

According to Woodside Petroleum?s quarterly report, LNG production of 32,708 tons per day was higher than the previous quarter of 31,222 tons per day due to higher system availability and increased production due to the cooler seasonal conditions.

Woodside also said LNG Train 2 performance had improved following routine maintenance performed during the planned shutdown during May 2006.

The six equal participants in the NWSV are: BHP Petroleum, BP Developments Australia, Chevron Asiatic, Japan Australia LNG, Shell Developments and the operator Woodside Petroleum.

NWSV has long-term contracts with customers in Japan and South Korea, and recently delivered its first cargo to China?s first LNG terminal in Guangdong. (Robert)
