Vietnam’s PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) and Malaysia’s national oil and gas company PETRONAS have agreed to a key deal, marking the beginning of commercial LNG cooperation between the two companies in the Vietnamese market. The deal, valued at USD 40 million, involves the delivery of an LNG cargo scheduled for early April 2025.
According to PV Gas, the agreement follows a recent meeting between the two companies, which took place at PV GAS's headquarters on March 26, 2025. The discussions centered on expanding collaboration along the gas and LNG value chain, as part of a broader Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed in November 2023 between Petrovietnam and PETRONAS.

Both parties discussed further opportunities for collaboration, including LNG supply and infrastructure investment, to meet Vietnam’s growing energy demand. They also agreed to continue negotiations on potential long-term LNG purchase agreements.
