Regional LNG: Shizuoka Gas inks LNG sales deal with Shell

Japan?s Shizuoka Gas Co Ltd said that it has entered into LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Shell Eastern Trading (Pte.) Ltd. for the liquefied natural gas reloaded at Shimizu LNG Terminal.

Shizuoka Gas said in a statement Friday it has been seeking further utilizations of Shimizu LNG terminal to achieve the reduction of LNG cost in the newly deregulated gas market. ?As one of our initiatives, we converted Shimizu LNG Terminal into a bi-directional terminal by adding reloading facilities in April of this year,? the statement said.

?This is our first binding contract to supply LNG through our LNG terminal,? it added.

Shizuoka Gas said it is continuously committed to pursuing the possibilities for the reduction of LNG cost by increasing transaction volumes at Shimizu LNG Terminal and taking advantage of liquidity in expanding global LNG market.
