Regional LNG: Singapore looks for more LNG importers
Tuesday, July 1 2014 - 12:09 AM WIB
The Energy Market Authority (EMA) announced on Monday the launch of Stage One of a two-stage Request for Proposal (RFP) process. This is for the selection of up to two importers of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for Singapore beyond the first 3 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG supply.
Interested parties to import LNG are invited to submit proposals for this incremental LNG supply. They will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of their gas supply proposals and their ability to provide a reliable and secure gas supply to Singapore.
Proposals are to be submitted by 4pm (Singapore time) on 31 December 2014. EMA will evaluate the proposals and shortlist up to three parties to participate in Stage Two of the RFP.
EMA is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Its main goals are to ensure a reliable and secure energy supply, promote effective competition in the energy market and develop a dynamic energy sector in Singapore
