Regional LNG: Wison, Kumul Petroleum sign FLNG pre-FEED contract for PNG

Chinese firm Wison New Energies (WNE) and Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) have on Friday officially signed a Pre-FEED contract for Papua New Guinea's first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility. The FLNG, with a planned capacity of 1.5 million tons per annum (MTPA), is set to be deployed in the Gulf of Papua, with the Pre-FEED stage scheduled for completion by June 2025.
Wison did not disclose the value of the contract.
This partnership is a major milestone for WNE in Oceania, as the company leverages its expertise in clean energy to advance this key national project for Papua New Guinea. WNE is committed to delivering efficient, environmentally friendly FLNG solutions and looks forward to collaborating with KPHL to meet the growing energy demands in the region, Wison said.

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) is Papua New Guinea’s national petroleum and energy company. KPHL owns and operates four petroleum retention licenses, covering the Pandora, Kimu, Barikewa, and Uramu petroleum fields. It is also the third-largest shareholder in the PNG LNG project.
Wison New Energies specializes in providing clean energy technology services and solutions. The company delivers highly integrated EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) solutions for LNG facilities, floating gas-to-power facilities, and other clean energy projects.
