Regional Power: ASEAN energy bodies sign study framework for Cambodia-Laos power interconnection

ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Electricité du Cambodge, and Electricité du Laos have signed a joint study framework to advance cross border electricity interconnection between Cambodia and Laos.
The agreement was signed in Phnom Penh on May 25 and covers feasibility studies, technical assessments, regulatory reviews, commercial analysis, environmental studies, and implementation planning for the proposed power interconnection project.

The study will be conducted under the ASEAN Power Grid Project Preparation Facility through collaboration between the World Bank and the ASEAN Centre for Energy.
The initiative forms part of the ASEAN Power Grid program aimed at strengthening regional electricity interconnection and multilateral power trade across Southeast Asia.
