Regulation: Govt launches $20 billion JETP investment plan

The government officially launched on Tuesday the 2023 Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP) in a bid to secure US$20 billion worth of funds, promised by international lenders under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) program, to help finance decarbonization efforts of the country's power sector.  According to the CIPP document, Indonesia aims to reduce carbon emissions to 250 million tons for the on-grid power sector by 2030, compared to 350 million tons under the business-as-usual scenario, and also to increase the share of renewables to 44% in the energy mix from the current 12%.
