Regulation on new FIT for geothermal issued

The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has officially issued a regulation on the increase in feed in tariff (FIT) for geothermal power supply sold to state electricity company PLN from 9.7 US cent to a range of between 10 US cent to 18.5 US cent, depending on the location of the power plants as quoted by Kontan daily.

Under the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry?s regulation signed on Aug. 17, FIT for geothermal power for Sumatra is 10 US cent, per kWh for high voltage and 11.5 US cent for medium voltage.

For Java, the FIT is 11 US cent for kWh for high voltage and 12,5 cent per kWh for medium voltage. The tariff for eastern Indonesia is higher because of lack of infrastructure facilities.

For South Sulawesi, the tariff is 12 cent per kWh for high voltage and 13.5 cent for medium voltage, while for North Sulawesi, the tariff if 13 cent for high voltage and 14.5 cent for medium voltage.

The tariff for West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara is set at 15 cent per kWh for high voltage and 16.5 percent per kWh for medium voltage, while for Maluku and Papua, the tariff is 15 cent for high voltage and 18.5 cent for medium voltage. (*)
