Rekasindo begins coal production in Bengkulu

PT Rekasindo Suriang Tandang, one of mining companies in Bengkulu, will begin the commercial production of its 600-hectare coal mine in Girimulya district, North Bengkulu, Neraca reported on Friday.

Zulkifli Abdullah, a senior official of the province's mining office, said in Bengkulu on Thursday that the company which cooperated with Coal Mineral of India in the coal exploration and production would produce about 130,000 tons of coal per month with calorific value of 5,500-6,000 kcal/kg during the first years of its operation.

With the operation of the company, Bengkulu has six productive coal miners including PT Bukit Sumur, PT Danau Mas Hitam and PT Bara Indah Lestari. (*)
