State-owned engineering and construction company PT Rekind is expected to start in the early part of this year the construction of a coal-fired power plant in Belang Belang port, Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi.
West Sulawesi Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh said over the weekend that the power plant facility, which will cost about Rp 10 trillion, would support the development of the Belang Belang port into a modern industrial zone designed to help lure more investment into the province.
He added that the power plant will be developed in two stages, with the first stage developing a 150 MW capacity plant. (*)
