Rekind to participate in Cepu and IDD tender

State owned engineering and construction firm PT Rekayasa Industri will participate in the tender for construction works at the Tiung Baru and Jambaran fields in Cepu block in Java and the IDD deepwater project in Makassar Strait.

Business Development Manager Simon Kuntjoro said on Thursday the firm will participate in the tender for the construction of EPC facilities at Tiung Baru-Jambaran, which is scheduled to be held in 2014.

Late last year, Pertamina and ExxonMobil reached an agreement over the unitization of oil and gas reserves at the Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields in the Cepu block, in Central Java. Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina. The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block.

Simon also said Rekind will also participate in the tender for the construction of Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF) for the IDD project which is owned by Chevron Indonesia Company. The tender is now in the pre-qualification stage and the tender winner will be announced next year.

The IDD project is expected to be on stream in 2017-2018, and that the gas from the project will be processed into LNG at the Bontang plant.
