Release: Antam monthly exploration report for April 2009

(12 May 2009)--PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge April Exploration Report in accordance with the Indonesia Stock Exchange listing rules.

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities on April 2009 amounted to Rp7.8 billion (preliminary figures).

NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku and South-east Sulawesi.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Buli-North Maluku included drilling, logging core and grid measurement while at Tapunopaka and Mandiodo-Southeast Sulawesi Antam focused on track measurement, drilling spots, topography measurement, logging core and drilling.

Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp2.8 billion.

GOLD
Antam conducted gold exploration at Central Aceh-NAD, North Tapanuli-North Sumatera, Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor and Papandayan-West Java, Ajibarang and Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Wowoni and Ranteangin-Southeast Sulawesi and Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Central Aceh-NAD included geochemical sample analysis. Antam also conducted exploration at North Tapanuli-North Sumatera included Semi Detailed Geological Mapping (SDGM), opening and samples of rocks, Fl and petrol mineragraphy. At Batangasai-Jambi, Antam performed Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), hand auger, opening, samples of soil, core, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and Fi, conducted logging core, outcrop description, structure description and drilling.

Exploration activities at Java Island were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed DGM, logging core, samples of core, rock and XRD and also conducted drilling, track measurement, geophysics measurement and CSAMT. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, samples of rocks, XRD and petrography/mineragraphy and track measurement. Antam also conducted DMG, SDMG, opening, samples or rock, Fi, XRD and petrography at Ajibarang-Central Java while at Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Antam conducted DGM, hand auger, samples of soil and rocks, track measurement, magnetic geophysics and IP geophysics.

At Wowoni of Southeast Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, samples of rocks, Fi and petrography, conducted opening, track measurement, outcrop description, IP geophysics and magnetic geophysics. Antam conducted Regional Geological Mapping (RGM), samples of stream sediment, rock, Fi, XRD and petro/mineragraphy at Ranteangin-Southeast Sulawesi while at Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi Antam conducted SDGM, DGM, samples of rocks, Fi, petrography and XRD and track measurement.

Total gold exploration cost reached Rp3.4 billion.

BAUXITE
Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Mempawah included 50 m grid, topography measurement, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples.

Antam conducted grid measurement, topography, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples at Tayan.

At Munggu Pasir, Antam conducted grid measurement, topography measurement, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples.

Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp1.4 billion.

COAL
Antam conducted coal exploration at Mura Tebo of Jambi included RGM, SDGM, opening, samples of rocks and core, conducted logging, drilling and track measurement.

Total coal exploration reached Rp170.9 million. (end of release)
