Release: Antam monthly exploration report for August 2009

(14 September 2009)--PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge August Exploration Report in accordance with the Indonesia Stock Exchange listing rules.

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities on August 2009 amounted to Rp8.8 billion (preliminary figures).

NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku and Southeast Sulawesi.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Buli-North Maluku including drilling, logging core, grid and topography measurement, SG and MC measurement and drill checking at Pakal while at Pomalaa-Southeast Sulawesi, Antam conducted GPS geodetic and set up pole boundary.

Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp2.8 billion.

GOLD
Antam conducted gold exploration at Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor and Papandayan-West Java, Cibaliung-Banten, Ajibarang -Central Java and Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Batangasai-Jambi included Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), hand auger, opening, samples of soil, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and Fl, conducted outcrop measurement, magnetic and IP geophysics and track measurement.

Exploration activities at Java Island were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed DGM, logging core, hand auger, samples of soil, core, rock and petrograpgy/mineragraphy, drilling, track and geophysics measurement and also CSAMT geophysics. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, hand auger, samples of rocks, soil and XRD and track measurement. At Cibaliung-Banten, Antam conducted DGM, opening, samples of rocks, Fi, XRD and petrography/mineragraphy, geophysics and track measurement, outcrop measurement and IP geophysics. Antam also conducted DGM, Semi detailed geological mapping (SDGM), track measurement, samples of rock, FI, XRD, petrography/mineragraphy, track measurement, magnetic geophysics and IP geophysics at Ajibarang-Central Java.

At Mao Batuisi of West Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, opening, samples of rocks, XRD and petrography/ mineragraphy, geophysics track measurement and opening new road for drilling machine.

Total gold exploration cost reached Rp4.3 billion.

BAUXITE
Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Mempawah included 50 m grid, topography measurement, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples.

Antam conducted grid measurement, topography, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples at Tayan and Munggu Pasir.

At Tayan, Antam also conducted absorption density method, bulk density, fractionation, channel (grid sampling), MC and sample grab.

Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp1.7 billion.

COAL
Antam conducted Regional Geological Mapping (RGM), SDGM and track measurement at Mura Tebo of Jambi at a cost of Rp69 million. (end of release)
