NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration in Halmahera and Southeast Sulawesi while at Obi Island Antam conducted evaluation and final report preparation.
Exploration in Buli, Halmahera included 6,129 meters of drilling at Blok A and Pakal using 25 m x 25 m spacing and for Sangaji using 50 m x 50 m and 100 m x 100 m spacing. The total cost reached Rp5 billion.
Antam conducted analyses of the continuation of nickel laterite deposits with final-stage infill drilling, boulder distribution analysis (georadar research on several mining blocks) and final preparations for the Mornopo mine design, for a total cost of Rp245.6 million.
Antam continued exploration drilling in Southeast Sulawesi at Tapunopaka using spacing of 25 m and at Mandiodo using spacing of 50 m, for a total of 3,922 meters at a cost of Rp2.5 billion.
Activities on December 2005 at Obi Island included chemical analysis, evaluation, preparing final report and arranging 25m cross pattern drilling model at a total cost of Rp226 million.
Antam also conducted exploration at Marowali Regency, Central Sulawesi and applied for a new mining license at this location. The total cost reached Rp29.8 million.
The total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp8 billion.
GOLD
Exploration activities in Mranggu, East Java were conducted in cooperation with the Bandung Institute of Technology and spent Rp113.1 million.
Antam was in the final report phase at Karossa, West Sulawesi; Baturape, South Sulawesi; Toliwang, West Halmahera and Cariu, Bogor and spent Rp106.4 million. Geological results prompted Antam to apply for mining licenses at Tauro (Toliwang Area), West Hamahera and Karossa, West Sulawesi.
Further exploration activities at Seblat, Bengkulu specifically Gunung Husin and Lebong Kandis prospects included regional geological mapping of 4,800 ha, semi-detailed geological mapping of 650 ha and detailed geological mapping of 30 ha, a 140m3 shallow ground clearing and analyzed 80 samples with a total cost of Rp72.7 million.
Exploration activities at Bulado, Gorontalo included semi-detailed geological mapping of 3,000 ha, detailed geological mapping of 240 ha, a 140m3 shallow ground clearing and analyzed 113 samples with a total cost of Rp106 million.
At Pongkor gold mine, Antam conducted detailed geological mapping of 5 ha and analyzed 12 samples with a total cost of Rp191.9 million. Antam targeted exploration areas of Kubang Cicau below L-500, Nirmala, Cirabok, Malasari and Legok Heulang block. Antam also conducted a 135m geological study and 60 times of permeability testing at a total cost of Rp87.7 million and a 196.05m RAMP geological study with a total cost of Rp115.6 million.
Gold exploration at Cikotok, Banten continued in cooperation with a third party. It completed 1 drilling pit of 300.10 m at Cisadan prospect. All costs were borne by the third party.
Activities at Kalamiseng, Mamuju, Arsejulu and Patahtiga continued with total cost of Rp93.5 million.
The total cost of gold exploration reached Rp886.9 million.
BAUXITE
Bauxite exploration at Wacopek, Kijang included grid measurements of 17.06 km, test pitting of 631.8 m, 351 samples, preparation analysis of 351 samples and arrangements for further activities at 8 knolls surrounding Wacopek at a total cost of Rp99.4 million.
Antam test pitting activities at Tayan used 25m spacing. Activities included a grid measurement of 9.95 kilometers, test pitting of 505.1 meters, preparation analysis of 203 samples and mine design. The total cost amounted to Rp405.6 million, including Rp247.6 million for mine design.
Activities at Riau continued with a total cost of Rp60 million.
The total cost of bauxite exploration reached Rp565 million. (end of release)
