Release: Antam monthly exploration report for Feb 2006

Jakarta, March 10, 2006 ? PT Antam, Tbk is pleased to lodge the February exploration report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) listing rules. Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite. Total exploration cost on February reached Rp4 billion, 54% higher than Rp2.6 billion spent on January 2006.

NICKEL EXPLORATION
Antam conducted nickel exploration in Buli, Halmahera; Southeast Sulawesi and Obi Island. Nickel exploration using drilling method in Buli, Halmahera specifically Pakal block and Sangaji continued and reached 2,482 m. It also collected 2,479 samples. Total cost reached Rp1.2 billion.

Antam also conducted nickel exploration in Southeast Sulawesi at Tapunopaka and Mandiodo using drilling method and successfully reached 2,687 m at a total cost of Rp1.1 billion. Exploration activities including core description, 2,065 samples and 12.5 m spacing of drilling method for modelling in this area are conducted to increase resource classification.

Drilling volume at Obi Island using 25 m and 50 m spacing reached 1,354 m at a total cost of Rp763 million.

On February 2006, Antam applied for 11 new nickel-mining licences (KP) in areas as followed: Halmahera, Southeast Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi.

Total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp3.1 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION
Antam conducted gold exploration at Pongkor, West Java; Seblat, Bengkulu and Buladu, Gorontalo. Exploration activities at Pongkor included 170 m of geological-technical drilling followed by permeability test, Piezometer set up, geomechanical analysis and geohidrological analysis at a total cost of Rp386.2 million.

Exploration drilling at Kubang Cicau vein below L.500 resulted 2 drilling spots and totalled 251 m. Drilling no.1 went through vein at 430 m above sea level elevation, 7.38 m wide with average grade of 7.20 gpt Au/ 46.44 gpt Ag. At the same vein and wide, also discovered grade of 12.52 gpt Au/ 59.45 gpt Ag at 3.72 m wide. Drilling no.2 went through vein at 390 m above sea level elevation, 8.4 m wide with average grade of 5.41 gpt Au/ 15.71 gpt Ag. At the same vein and wide, also discovered 20.96 gpt Au/ 42.00 gpt Ag at 1.5 m wide. Total cost reached Rp93.2 million.

Exploration activities at Seblat, Bengkulu conducted particularly at Gunung Husein vein to collect more data for supporting planned drilling activity. Detailed activities included Regional Geological Mapping of 227.25 ha, opening of 798 m3, 108 rock samples, 65 soil samples and 8 samples for X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Fluid Inclusion (FI). Total cost reached Rp373.8 million.

Exploration at Gorontalo focused in Bolontio area included Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 2,100 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 1,000 ha, opening of 95 m3, XRD, petrography/ mineragraphy with a total of 85 samples. From activities with total cost reached Rp53.6 million, 4 vein zones discovered near Bahunta River with details as followed:

General Direction: N 2600 E ? N2900 E
Vein 1: 100 m length, to the east
Vein 2: 250 m length, followed with exposure at Bahunta river arm.
Vein 3: Further exploration required
Vein 4: Further exploration required

On February, Antam applied for 2 new goldmining licenses at West Sumatera and Bengkulu, and also applied for border revision for 2 mining licenses-exploration at Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) province.

Total cost for gold exploration reached Rp906.8 million.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION
Bauxite exploration activities still focused at Tayan and Munggu Pasir. Both areas are at West Kalimantan. Test pitting volume using 25 m spacing at Tayan reached 104 pits (833 m) followed by collecting 252 samples. At Munggu Pasir prospect, Antam prepared exploration activities including 50 m spacing test-pitting grid reached 12 pits (42.70 m). Total cost reached Rp23.5 million.

Total cost for bauxite exploration including lab and mine design reached Rp38.3 million. (end of release)
