Release: Antam monthly exploration report for February 2007

(Jakarta, 12 March, 2007) - PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge the February exploration report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange listing rules.

Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite.

Total exploration cost in February 2007 rose 214% to Rp6.9 billion compared with Rp2.2 billion spent on January 2007.

NICKEL EXPLORATION

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Buli and Obi Island - Halmahera, Maluku, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Sangaji block, Buli - Halmahera with 50 m spacing drilling. In February 2007, Antam also conducted 200 m and 400 m spacing drilling with 21 drilling pits with total depth of 260.2 m. Antam also conducted 200 ha topography measurement, 40 km of drilling and grid measurement. 4,015.5 5 m logging and took 4,053 samples. Total cost reached Rp1.5 billion.

Antam continued technical geological drilling at Pakal with a cost of Rp 1.4 million.

Antam continued lab analysis at Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi at a cost of Rp 73.7 million while Tapunopaka Antam conducted mine design planning with lab analysis activities at a cost of Rp 37.7 million.

Nickel exploration at Bututaloa, Southeast Sulawesi, included 3,121 ha regional geological mapping, 500 ha laterite mapping, 28 core samples, 28 m test pits, and 28 preparation samples, with a cost of Rp 108.2 million.

Nickel exploration at Obi island included 3,154.1 m of 50 m spacing core drilling, 3,238 core samples, 3,142 core drilling description, 3,238 preparation samples, 9.3 km drilling pits and grid measurements, and 108 ha topography measurement. Total exploration cost at the area amounted to Rp 2.9 billion.

Nickel exploration at Central Sulawesi included Wosu, Tangofa, Langkawe, Banggai and Bulutaloa regions. Antam spent Rp6.2 million at Wosu while at Tangofa, Antam conducted lab analysis with a cost of Rp12.8 million.

Antam conducted 12,830 ha regional geological mapping, 2,280 ha semi-detailed geological mapping, 178 samples of core drilling, 181.6 m auger drilling, 181.6 m core drilling description and 182 preparation samples at Langkawe. Total cost at Langkawe amounted to Rp148.6 million.

Activities at Banggai included lab analysis with a cost of Rp38.9 million.

Antam continued analysis on samples taken from Seram - Maluku with a cost of Rp253 million. Total cost for nickel exploration amounted to Rp5 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION

Antam conducted gold exploration at Pongkor and Garut of West Java, Gunung Liman of East Java, Seblat of Bengkulu, Patah Tiga Mountain of Jambi, and Southeast Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Pongkor induded core drilling, core description and core samples at Ciurung vein below level 500. Drilling activities reached 1,128 m depth and 1,128 logging core with a cost of Rp426.3 million. There was an indication of quartz vein with 2.85 m width and 22.62 ppm Au grade. Antam also continued geotechnical activities at Ciguha for below 500 m elevation mine development, which included 92 m drilling activities.

Exploration activities at Papandayan, Garut, included 115 ha detailed geological mapping, 755.7 m of drilling and logging core, 73 core samples, 101 rock samples and 1.5 km drilling measurement at a cost of Rp393.2 million.

Gold exploration at Seblat of Bengkulu focused at Air Lalangi and Air Kuro veins. Activities included 126.5 ha detailed geological mapping, opening of 252 m, 53 rock samples and 2 Fl samples. There were two indications of quartz veins in the area. Total cost reached Rp382.9 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Muaramanderas of Jambi which included 26 ha semi-detailed geological mapping, 96.3 ha detail geological mapping, 42 rock samples, 521 soil samples, 14 Fl samples, 15 XRD samples, opening of 177 m, 340 m auger drilling, 301 spots of IP measurement and 4.7 km track measurement. There were two quartz vein indications with a maximum Au grade of 14.9 ppm. Total cost reached Rp189.2 million.

Gold exploration at Wowoni, Southeast Sulawesi included tab analysis with a cost of Rp0.7 million. Meanwhile, cost of gold exploration at Taliwang, Central Halmahera, amounted to Rp5.7 million.

Antam conducted field survey and analysis at Gunung Liman, East Java, at a cost of Rp10.2 million. Total cost for gold exploration reached Rp1.4 billion.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION

Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Tayan, Mempawah, and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Tayan of West Kalimantan included 25 m spacing of test pit with 3.1 km of grid measurement, 4.3 m polygon measurement, 188 pits (1,167.4 m) of test pitting, and 366 samples and 216 preparation samples. Total cost reached Rp337.5 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Munggu Pasir which included 18.7 km of grid measurement, 316 pits (1,215.3 m) of 50m test pitting, 513 samples and 346 preparation samples. Total cost reached Rp171.8 million.

Bauxite exploration at Mempawah included 800 ha semi-detailed geological mapping. 38 (142.5 m) pits of test pitting and 49 samples with a cost of Rp5 million.

Total cost for bauxite exploration reached Rp514.3 million. (end of release)
