Release: Antam monthly exploration report for Jan. 2010

(Jakarta, January 13, 2010)--PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge December Exploration Report in accordance with the Indonesia Stock Exchange listing rules.

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities in December 2009 amounted to Rp11.4 billion (preliminary figures).

NICKEL

Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku, Southeast Sulawesi and Gag Island of West Papua.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Bull-North Maluku including grid, topography, SG and MC measurement

Exploration activities in Southeast Sulawesi included drilling, logging core, core sampling, mapping, grid measurement and topography measurement at Mandiodo, Lasolo and South Lalindu.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Gag Island?West Papua included drilling, logging core, core sampling, track and drilling spot measurement.

Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp3.5 billion.

GOLD

Antam conducted gold exploration at Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor Papandayan-West Java, Cibaliung-Banten, Ajibarang-Central Java, Wowoni-Southeast Sulawesi, Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi and Oksibil-Papua.

Exploration activities at Batangasai-Jambi included Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), hand auger, opening, collected samples of soil, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and Fl, conducted outcrop and drilling spot measurement and IP geophysics.

Exploration activities at Java lsland.were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed logging core, collected samples of core, rock, petrography/ mineragraphy and XRD, drilling, drilling track measurement, IP geophysics, drilling results recommendation and geological modelling and evaluation. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, drilling, logging core, collected samples of rocks, core, Fi and XRD, conducted track measurement and magnetic geophysics. At Cibaliung-Banten, Antam conducted DGM, opening, collected samples of rocks, Fi, core XRD and pet/ min, drilled logging, drilling, geophysics track measurement, outcrop measurement and CSAMT geophysics. Antam also conducted DGM, opening and collected samples of rock, Fi and pet/ min at Ajibarang - Central Java.

At Wowoni - Southeast Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, opening, drilling, logging core and collected samples of core and rocks while at Mao Batuisi - West Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, opening, collected samples of rock, Fi, core and Pet/ XRD, logging, drilling, track measurement, polygon measurement, magnetic geophysics and IP geophysics.

Antam conducted initial exploration at Oksibil, Bintang Mountains - Papua including Semi Detailed Geological Mapping (SDGM), Regional Geological Mapping (RGM), stream sediment and samples of rock, XRD and pet/ min.

Total gold exploration cost reached Rp5.4 billion.

BAUXITE

Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Landak, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Mempawah and Landak included 50 m grid measurement, 50 m and 400 m test pitting, initial path and sampling.

Antam conducted grid measurement, polygon measurement, test pitting and sampling at Tayan while at Munggu Pasir, Antam conducted grid measurement, 50 m and 25 m test pitting and sampling.

Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp2.3 billion.

COAL

Antam conducted RGM, SDGM and core sampling at Mura Tebo of Jambi at a cost of Rp206 million. (end of release)
