Release: Antam monthly exploration report for July 2006

(August 11, 2006) - PT Antam, Tbk s pleased to lodge July Exploration Report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) listing rules.

Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite. Total exploration cost on July reached Rpl0 billion, 32% higher than Rp7.6 billion spent on June 2006.

NICKEL EXPLORATION

Antam conducted nickel exploration in Buli, Gee Island and Obi island of Halmahera; Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.

Nickel exploration using drilling method in Buli, Halmahera specifically Pakal block and Sangaji continued in 191 drilling spots and reached 3,604 m. Activities included core description, core samples, 9,035 preparation samples, 90 km grid measurement and 200 ha topography. Total cost reached Rp4.06 billion.

Antam conducted nickel exploration in Southeast Sulawesi at Tapunopaka and Pomalaa including 668 m drilling using 100 in spacing drilling, 806 core samples, 715 sample preparations and 17.35 km grid measurement. Total cost reached Rp1.07 billion. Antam also prepared mine design at Tapunopaka and Lasolo. Total cost reached Rp20.4 million.

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Obi Island specifically Kawasi block including drillina activity that reached 4,456.5m, 4,742 core samples, 4,391.5m core drilling description, sample preparations and analysis of 1,150 samples. Total cost reached Rp2. 1 billion. Antam also conducted geotechnical activities, including 6 geotechnical drilling at 225 m depth and 2.5 tones static cone penetration drilling of 99.2 in depth in 18 spots to support dock design and mining infrastructure. Total cost of geotechnical activities reached Rp356.9 million.

Exploration activities to identify nickel resources were conducted at Bungku Selatan of Central Sulawesi including Regional Geological Mapping of 3,000 ha, Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 305 ha, 20.6 m test pit, 21 core samples, 20.6 in core drilling description followed by rock description, preparation and x-ray analysis. Antam indicated one prospect area and one new mining license will be applied. Total cost reached Rp13 million.

Total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp7.6 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION

Antam conducted gold exploration at Pongkor of West Java; Seblat of Bengkulu; Patah Tiga Mountain of Jambi, Tauro/ Toliwang of North Halmahera and Southeast Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Pongkor included exploration drilling, core description and core samples at Kubang Cicau and Ciguha vein below L.500 resulted 1,143.2 m depth, 71 core samples and 12.35 km of magnet geophysical track measurement at Ciurug, Nirmala. Antam indicated vein at L.300. Total cost reached Rp 952.8 million.

Exploration activities at Seblat of Bengkulu conducted particularly at Lebong Kandis, Gunung Husein vein and Air Main including Detailed Geological Mapping of 65.40 ha, opening of 171 m3 followed by collecting 169 rock samples and FI, 104 m of drilling, 115 m logging core and 1 km of track measurement. Drilling activities indicated no significant samples. Total cost reached Rp 521.9 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Muaramanderas of Jambi, including Regional Geological Mapping of 2,000 ha, Semi-Detailed Geological Mapping of 1,250 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 85 ha that indicated vein at 3 prospect areas, 10 samples of SS, rock samples and FI and XRD of 96 samples. Total cost reached Rp174.4 million.

Antam conducted gold exploration at Southeast Sulawesi and Buru Island, including Regional Geological Mapping of 75,000 ha, Semi-Detailed Geological Mapping of 250 ha, 89 rock samples, 158 samples of SS, 3 petrography samples and 3 new prospect areas. Total cost reached Rp61.1 million.

Antam also conducted exploration activities at Tauro/ Toliwang including Detailed. Geological Mapping of 85 ha, Semi-Detailed Geological Mapping of 500 ha and 50 rock samples that indicated vein at 2 prospect areas. Total cost reached Rp100 million.

Total cost for gold exploration reached Rpl.8 billion.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION

Bauxite exploration activities still focused at Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan and Riau Island.

Exploration activities conducted at Tayan including grid measurement of 15.52 km, 2 ha of topography, pitting volume of 67 pits (543.1 m) followed by collecting 184 channel samples and 204 sample preparations. Total cost reached Rp295.3 million.

At Munggu Pasir prospect, Antam continued to prepare exploration activities including 3.69 km of grid measurements, 50 m spacing test-pitting grid reached 88 pits (486.8 m), 204 samples and 179 sample preparations. Total cost reached Rp220.9 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Buru Island and still indicated no potential deposit. Total cost reached Rp69.5 million.

Exploration activities at Bangka Belitung included 7 spots of test pit activities still indicated no potential deposit. Total cost reached Rp56.7 million.

Total cost for bauxite exploration reached Rp642.4 million. (end of release)
