Release: Antam monthly exploration report for July 2009

Jakarta, 12 August 2009--PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge July Exploration Report in accordance with the Indonesia Stock Exchange listing rules.

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities on July 2009 amounted to Rp6.8 billion (preliminary figures).

NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku and Southeast Sulawesi.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Buli-North Maluku including drilling, logging core, grid measurement and topography while at Tapunopaka and Mandiodo - Southeast Sulawesi, Antam focused on preparations for further exploration activities.

Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp2.1 billion.

GOLD
Antam conducted gold exploration at Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor and Papandayan-West Java, Ajibarang and Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Wowoni-Southeast Sulawesi and Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Batangasai-Jambi included Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), hand auger, opening, samples of soil, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and Fl, conducted outcrop description, magnetic and IP geophysics, outcrop measurement and drilling spots.

Exploration activities at Java Island were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed DGM, logging core, samples of core and rock, drilling, track measurement and rock test. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, hand auger, samples of rocks, soil, XRD and petrography/ mineragraphy, track measurement and IP geophysics. Antam also conducted Semi Detailed Geological Mapping (SDGM), track measurement, samples of rock, FI, XRD, petrography and chemical analysis at Ajibarang-Central Java while at Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Antam conducted DGM, hand auger, track measurement, magnetic and IP geophysics and soil sampling.

At Wowoni of Southeast Sulawesi and Mao Batuisi of West Sulawesi, Antam conducted preparations for further exploration activities.

Total gold exploration cost reached Rp2.8 billion.

BAUXITE
Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Mempawah included 50 m grid, topography measurement, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples.

Antam conducted grid measurement, topography, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples at Tayan and Munggu Pasir.

Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp1.8 billion.

COAL
Antam conducted maintenance activities at Mura Tebo of Jambi at a cost of Rp115 million. (end of release)
