Release: Antam monthly exploration report for June 2006

(Jakarta, July 12, 2006) - PT Antam, Tbk is pleased to lodge June Exploration Report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) listing rules. Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite.

Total exploration cost on June reached Rp7.6 billion, 27% higher than Rp6 billion spent on May 2006.

NICKEL EXPLORATION
Antam conducted nickel exploration in Buli, Gee Island and Obi Island of Halmahera; Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and Seram Island.

Nickel exploration using drilling method in Buli, Halmahera specifically Pakal block and Sangaji continued and reached 8,666 m. Activities included core description, core samples, collected 8,709 preparation samples, grid measurement and topography. Total cost reached Rp3.3 billion.

Infill drilling activity was also conducted in Mornopo at P4/P5 block including measurement, 12.5 m spacing drilling, samples, preparations and x-ray analysis. Total cost reached Rp252 million. Antam also conducted exploration at Gee Island, including measurement, 25 m spacing drilling, samples, preparations and x-ray analysis. Total cost reached Rp256 million.

Nickel exploration conducted at Obi Island specifically at Kawasi block including drilling activities using 25 m and 50 m spacing that reached 1,481 m, collected 2,954 core samples, grid measurement, topography, sample preparations and x-ray analysis at a total cost of Rp1.2 billion.

Antam also conducted nickel exploration in Southeast Sulawesi at Tapunopaka including core description, samples, sample preparations, grid measurement and topography. Total cost reached Rp1 billion.

Exploration activities to identify nickel resources were conducted at Bungku Selatan of Central Sulawesi including Regional Geological Mapping of 8,898 ha, Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 1,975 ha, 142 m of test pit, rock description, preparation and x-ray analysis.

Potential deposit found at the west of Buleleng area and Bungku Selatan. Total cost reached Rp69.4 million. Initial exploration activities were conducted at Konawe of Southeast Sulawesi and Seram Island.

Total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp6.1 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION
Antam conducted gold exploration at Pongkor of West Java; Seblat of Bengkulu; Patah Tiga Mountain of Jambi and Tauro/ Toliwang of North Halmahera.

Exploration activities at Pongkor included exploration drilling, core description and core 2 samples at Kubang Cicau vein below L.500 resulted 564.45 m depth and magnet geophysical track measurement at Ciurug, Nirmala. Total cost reached Rp528.2 million.

Exploration activities at Seblat of Bengkulu conducted particularly at Lebong Kandis, Gunung Husein vein and Air Main including Detailed Geological Mapping of 133.6 ha, opening of 339.6 m3 followed by collecting 118 rock samples and FI, 273.5 m of drilling, 54 core samples, 262.5 m logging core and 14.8 km of track measurement.

Exploration drilling resulted indicated grades as followed: 1.46 gpt of 39.25 m-40.55 m, 1.24 gpt of 40.55 m-42.10 m, 2.37gpt of 52.50 m-53.6 m, 1.26 gpt of 56.30 m-56.90 m and 6.20 gpt of 198.95 m-199.65 m. Total cost reached Rp593.6 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Muara Manderas of Jambi, including Regional Geological Mapping of 2,000 ha, Semi-Detailed Geological Mapping of 1,455 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 125 ha, 37 samples of SS, rock samples and FI and XRD of 113 samples.

Antam also conducted exploration activities at Tauro/ Toliwang including Detailed Geological Mapping and Semi-Detailed Geological Mapping of 1,140 ha and collected 108 rock samples.

Total cost for gold exploration reached Rp1.1 billion.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION
Bauxite exploration activities still focused at Tayan and Munggu Pasir. Both areas are at West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities conducted at Tayan including grid measurement of 5.32 km, 5.6 ha of topography, pitting volume of 955 pits (749.5 m) followed by collecting 298 channel samples and 317 sample preparations. Total cost reached Rp161.5 million.

At Munggu Pasir prospect, Antam continued to prepare exploration activities including 17.34 km of grid measurements, 50 m spacing testpitting grid reached 93 pits (555.9 m), 199 samples and 181 sample preparations. Total cost reached Rp167 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Buru Island including 1.65m of pit testing, 59 samples and preparations. Antam found no potential deposit so far.

Exploration activities at Bangka Belitung included 108.9 m of pit testing, samples and 51 sample preparations.

Total cost for bauxite exploration reached Rp328.5 million. (end of release)
